Xenon Chameleon makes music for overloading senses, half-labeling his distinct use of field recordings/nature samples, distortion, and delays under the genre name ‘chromatopunk’. Regular denizen of VRchat night ‘Modular Mondays’, the community introduced him to the punk and EDM scenes in Maui, before subsequently helping him establish a wider East Coast presence. He was invited to live code a teeth-grinding footwork-inspired set at Brooklyn Art Haus for Live Code NYC and Creative Code Art in 2023.

Delving into live coding for noisy, improvised live sets, whilst playing off-the-wall, club-ready DJ sets, Xenon naturally sought fit to meld both aspects into a biological mush. Compared to his past “Chromatophores” mixtapes (created in the spirit of Knxwledge’s loose approach to mixtapes), Mud Pot dials in the intensity, both through deliberate sound-design and complex beat programming. Xenon Chameleon has been described by Tabula Rasa labelmates as a DAW-exhibitionist, pushing the modularity of cheap software and synthesizers to their fried limits.

Mixing together influences from hyperbaile, footwork and festival-ready EDM sounds into twisted, loud walls of sound, Xenon specifically lists artists like Machine Girl and Prolaps as influences - referencing the punk and footwork fusion present on tracks like ‘Angry Robot Frog Attack’.
